The Ministry of Health in the country has bought 2.34 million doses of BCG vaccine, which is used to vaccinate children to protect them against tuberculosis.
Confirming this, the director general of the health department, Doctor Patrick Amoth, has said that a total of 234 thousand vaccines are left in the national reserve, to ensure that there is no shortage of these vaccines in the country.
The director said that the Ministry of Health has already started activities of distributing the vaccines to the various counties of this nation.
Amoth said that among the counties that will receive the vaccine are Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kakamega, Meru, Nyeri, Garissa, Eldoret and many others.
In addition, Amoth added that this nation is still expected to receive more vaccines to prevent many other diseases, while calling on the county governments in the country to ensure that they develop strategies to vaccinate children with these vaccines.
