JOSEPH KABILA former president DRC
By Bruce Odhiambo
Joseph Kabila, Former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), has accused the current President Felix Tshisekedi of causing the ongoing crisis in the east of the country.
According to Kabila, Tshisekedi’s way of ruling has been a violation of the Constitution, suppressing opposition, and creating institutional instability, a situation that incites more chaos.
Kabila has also warned that the M23 conflict cannot be resolved by military force alone but requires a comprehensive solution that takes into account the history and the basic security problems in the country.
However, he has disputed the government’s claims that M23 is a group of puppets of foreign nations without legitimate claims.
The conflict in the DRC continues to raise serious security and political concerns, with international organizations calling for peace talks to restore stability in the region.
