Boda Boda operators announces a nationwide demonstration.
Boda Boda operators have announced nationwide demonstrations unless Parliament drops the controversial Public Transport (Motorcycle Regulations) Bill, which they argue unfairly targets their sector.
The Boda Boda Association of Kenya (BAK) opposes the bill’s additional levies and regulations, including mandatory registration and fines for violations.
While the bill aims to reduce accidents and regulate the sector, BAK claims it threatens their livelihoods.
The operators have given until March 11 for the bill to be withdrawn, or they will protest.
