Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) Interim Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, has hit out at the Kenya Kwanza government for using police to disperse party’s supporters procession welcoming him in Kakamega town.
According to Malala, the peaceful procession was met with use of brutal force, live bullets that missed Nyandarua senator John Methu by a whisker earlier today, as they started its country wide rallies to popularize the party ahead of June 3, official launch at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi County.

“I strongly condemn the use of brute force, live bullets and unnecessary teargas by our security agencies to disperse a peaceful procession merely welcoming their leader,” Malala wrote.
Malala reiterated the state of the nation, as one governed by the rule of law and such acts that contravene the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, that guarantees freedom of association, such acts have no place in the modern democratic society.
Malala further linked the disruption of the procession by police to President William Ruto, saying that they will not be coerced or intimidated by any acts from the already threatened Kenya Kwanza regime.
“Let it be known to the Kenya Kwisha administration that no amount of intimidation or coercion will break our resolve or weaken our spirit to make Ruto a one term President!” Malala further remarked.
Kiambu senator Karungo Thang’wa, also condemned, faulting police of failing to deal with bandits in Elgeyo Marakwet, are being used by the government to fight the people of Kakamega.
“Yaani, instead of sending police to deal with bandits in Elgeyo Marakwet — the home county of Security CS Murkomen — the government is deploying them to terrorize the people of Kakamega. Today, I joined Sen. Malala, the newly unveiled DCP Deputy Party Leader, for his homecoming “greet the people” tour in Kakamega — and we were met with teargas. I strongly condemn this brutal and unnecessary use of force against the people and their leaders. But as always — this too shall pass,” Thangw’a said.
Earlier, DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua said the president is yet to see things, as after the historic launch of the party, the call to ensure he serves only one term will gain further momentum.
