Saturday morning was not a good one for Kileleshwa Member of county Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai, after netizens took turn to criticize his ‘donation’ at a church in his ward.
In a viral photo, Alai is seen posing for a photo while handing over blue plastic chairs to them, which did not excite them following his calls to impeach Siaya governor James Orengo for failing to deliver to the people of Siaya.
Expressing their disappointment, a section of them called him out for hypocrisy, while some regretted supporting.
Here are some of the reactions by Kenyans online;
“MCA Robert Alai developmental tour is supporting residents with plastic chairs. This guy is a joke,”Alinur Mohamed wrote.“
Petty man I was wrong supporting him for Kile Ward,”@MtaniHustle commented.
“The fact that he posed to take a photo, graduates the joke to a circus,” @Clemmoh commented.
“Then he is all over social media as if he is a blogger, he comments on everything forgetting he should work for his people,” @Obala_Ian wrote.
“Elections are nearing. Politicians have looted so much, now they are rushing to the people to hoodwink them. Kaongo can’t explain where he’s taken Trillions but thinks some 145m will excite Kenyans. What is 145m in trillions?” @Overcoming evil questioned.
“He is allergic to donating motorcycles. If you know you know!”@wamerefe commented.
“Those ones who are receiving the Plastic chairs are even more stupid than him,” @Abdika wrote.“Robert Alai handing over a plastic chair in Kileleshwa. He has delivered,” @itskipronoh.
The criticism comes less than a day, after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, held a mega empowerment for his constituents in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County amounting to KSh 45 million.
Kenyans took to social media not only questioning the source of the funds to purchase the posh mill machines, milk cans, Nissans and motor bikes, but asked the area MPs to learn from Sudi on what empowerment is.
The controversial legislator refuted earlier claims by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua that the millions were donated by President William Ruto, yet his region in Mt. Kenya he donates cans of beans, calling him the biggest tribalist.
