Former deputy president and Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader has called on residents of Meru county to boycott an expensive luxurious hotel in the county, associated to his former boss President William Ruto.
Speaking ahead of his three-day tour of the region, Gachagua disclosed that Ruto is a building a road towards his hotel, instead of one to help farmers in the region to transport their produces to markets and factories.
Kasongo anyolewe, asinyolewe,” Gachagua disclosed.
According to him, the head of state accused him of illegally purchasing a piece of land in the region, one of the allegations he was impeached and further accused him of orchestrating his impeachment.
Gachagua further stated that he could not agree with the president following the killing of Gen Zs, and his plan to divide Mt. Kenya region into fractions by tribes, which he said further escalated their division.
“Mimi singekubali kuungana naye akiuwa watoto. Alitaka kugawanya Mlima ndio atukalie vile Moi alitukalia kwa miaka 24. Alitaka kutumia huyu soprano eti Wameru, Wakikuyu na Waembu wakao kando ndio atutawale. Nguvu yeti ni tukikaa pamoja,” he further stated.
Echoing his sentiments, former Agriculture CS and DCP’s National Organising Secretary Mithika Linturi, said that following his unfilled promises to the people of Meru, they have come out to liberate the community from Ruto.
“Ndio mnaona tumetoa kifua mbele na tumesema tutaenda mbele na wengine watafuata. We are here to tell you that you should not be scared at all, despite currently lacking leaders who can fight for us, Meru has no shortage of leaders that are patriotic, that can work day and night to liberate Meru,” Linturi added.
Gachagua further blasted MPs and leaders from the region, for failing to do their duties and resorting to be flower girls to the president, by doing as directed by him, and not delivering the mandate given to them by voters, as well as supporting his removal from office, that has further crippled development of the region.
