President William Ruto Senior Economic Advisor Moses Kuria has once again left the country talking about his recent remarks on politics could change the political landscape in the country
During an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday evening, Kuria said the recent political hype in the country will amount to nothing, as the events of 2002 elections will happen in the much anticipated 2027 elections.
“There is not going to be an election in 2027. There is not going to be a contest! 2002 was rubber stamped and Kibaki agreed, we have never seen that margin again because it was a movement, 2027 will be another movement, there is not going to be an election but so much consensus in the country,” Kuria said.
According to him, the politics of the country will be decided by few individuals, to avoid plunging the country into the events that happened in Rwanda in 1992, stating that decision of the elections will be as a result of the consensus made, unlike witnessed in the past three elections.
“The elders will seat down, we have two options to go the Rwanda the way and destroy the nation, or lets agree and honour men and women. The alternative will be to dire to fathom, before taking a decision, there is going to be too much consensus. This election people are imaging is not going to be,” he further explained.
The consensus will be a precaution to avoid the country from being thrown into war, which will see leaders distributing seats amongst themselves to avoid the happenings of 2007/2008 elections. He faulted sentiments by Rigathi Gachagua as misleading and not brought out clearly of what will unfold.
“The consensus will be dependent on two factors: the danger and without consensus things will be bad, and Riggy G said it in the wrong way and for the wrong reasons because of election rigging, and jumping the country into grief. That will be a lot of consensus to save this country and how to manage the 2027 elections, and that will be the incentive to make people seat around the table to save this country, and seats to be distributed,” he remarked.
Kuria further said that he will lead the consensus as he is a peacemaker and a nationalist, who is accepted as a leader with a national outlook. He urged the people of Mt. Kenya region to be prepared and avoid throwing tantrums, as they instilled the leadership and choose to protect the country.
