In the late changes and promotions in the Kenya Army, President William Ruto promoted Major General David Ketter to Lieutenant General and appointed him as the Commander Kenya Army.
Ketter replaces Lieutenant General David Kimaiyo, who has been redeployed to the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K), as the Vice chancellor. In a statement released by the Ministry of Defence, Ketter was the Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of personnel and logistics.
Other promotions made by the president include; Major General Benard Waliaula has been appointed as the Commander Kenya Air Force. He replaces Major General Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed, whose term of service comes to an end after serving the nation for 42 years.
Waliaula was the Director of Defence National Security Industries. Brigadier Joel Muriungi has been promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Commandant Kenya Military Academy. Muruingi was Commande Armoured Brigade. Brigadier Joyce Chelang’at Sitienei to the rank of Major General and appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor Centre for Strategic and Security Studies at NDU-K.
In a meeting chaired by the Ministry’s Cabinet Secretary Siopan Tuya, the president approved recommendations of posting and promotion of officers across the Kenya Army and Kenya Air Force. The Kenya Army promotions and appointment include;
Brigadier Faustino Mancha has been promoted to Major General and appointed Director General Defence Security Industries, Brigadier Charles Lenjo to Major General and appointed Director International Peace Support Centre, Brigadier Mohamed Isak promoted to Major General and appointed Director at the Directorate of Oversight, Compliance and Accountability (DOCA), Brigadier Eugene Rugendo promoted to Major General and appointed Director of Personnel Logistics.
Others include Brigadier Richard Wambua, promoted to Brigadier and appointed Senior Directing Staff Army at National Defence College, Colonel Said Mohamed Mwacharo promoted to Brigadier and appointed Chief of Infrastructure, Colonel Meshack Sinkita promoted to brigadier and appointed Commander 6 Brigadier.
In the Kenya Air Force, Colonel Herbert Wafula has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Base Commander Moi Airbase, as Colonel Ismail Guhad Noor, who has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Deputy Managing Director at Kenya Ordinance Factories Limited and Food Processing Factory, Colonel Victor Waithaka has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Director National Air Support Department (NASD).
In the Navy, those promoted include Timothy Lekool (Major General), appointed Senior Directing Staff at National Defence College, Colonel Ronald Makori (Brigadier), has been appointed Chief of Strategic Plans and Policy, Colonel Peter Musili ( Brigadier) has also been appointed Commander Kenya Navy Logistics and Lieutenant Colonel Safari Katana promoted to Colonel and appointed Senior Directing Staffa Navy Joint Warfare Centre.
