Trans Nzoia Governor George has clarified the about the much anticipated Western tour of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i into a mega rally with other opposition leaders visiting the county on Thursday, June 3.
Speaking to clear the air, Natembeya stated that they agreed with Matiang’i to consolidate the tour into one mega rally, with other opposition leaders including DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua, LPP Martha Karua, DAP-K Eugene Wamalwa among others in their tour of the county.
“There will be another rally with other opposition leaders starting from Luanda, we agreed with Matiang’i instead of having a separate rally, we have one rally. We have not abandoned our tour, but consolidated it into one mega rally,” Natembeya clarified.
Natembeya said that any leader from the opposition who wishes to come to hold a rally after tomorrow’s rally in the county they are welcomed.
“If any leader wants to come to Trans Nzoia to have a rally, they are welcomed even if it is DCP, they can come at anytime, but tomorrow we have a single mega rally,” he added.
Matiang’i tour of the region comes after his interview on Tuesday, we he refuted claims that he is chanting his political path as a lone ranger, but working closely with other leaders, after which consultations will be made and later one the preferred candidate to unseat President William Ruto in 2027.
