South Mugirango Member of Parliament (MP) Silvanus Osoro slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his team for promoting tribal and divisive politics in the country.
Speaking during an empowerment drive in Tana River County, Osoro called on residents to shun leaders calling on divisive politics, which he claimed Gachagua was spreading and disrespecting communities with low population, urging him to respect them, as they are Kenyans.
He claimed the type of politics being bred by Gachagua will destroy the nation, as it excludes marginalized communities in the country rom political and government appointments to development, and further neglecting the fact that they are part of Kenya and voters.
“There are leaders who have sat down and called decided to preach division among Kenyans, for us to see an inclusive future as a country, we must refuse the calls of tribalism that some people are propagating. Ndio tunaambia yule mtu kutoka Wamunyoro, wacha kuuza ukabila, wacha kuharibu Kenya heshimu watu hata kama ni wachache,” Osoro said.
Osoro further hit out to Gachagua for inciting youths to protests, which led to massive destruction of properties in Nairobi nd other regions in the county. He rebuked protesters who wanted to storm State House Girls, in search of President William Ruto demanding respect for the presidency.
“Waliandamana juzi, mpaka wakaingia shule ya Wasichana ya State House Girls, even if you are looking for Ruto, is he found in State House Girl Honestly? As a county we will not head in such a direction. Jamani tuheshimu rais na wakenya,” Osoro further added.
He called on youths not to be used to cause violence in the country by tribal leaders, that caused a mayhem in the name of peaceful protests with chants of Ruto Must Go, cautioning the country on the dangers of a military state, and urged them to use constitutionally placed framework if they want to remove President William Ruto in power.
