As X blogger the late Albert Ojwang’ final moment come to an end, youths in his Mawego have burnt down Mawego Police Station in Homabay County, where he was first booked before being transferred to Central Police Station in Nairobi.
The fire incident comes briefly after youths marched with his body at the police station, before he was taken to him to his home in Kokwanyo village in Kabondo Kasipul Constituency.
The youths accused the officers for involvement in the death of Ojwang’, demanding justice for the 31-year-old teacher. however, the authorities have not issued any statement regarding the issue that has risen tension in the area.
Ojwang’s remain was flown to Kisumu International Airport, where a somber mood engulfed as residents viewed his body, before proceeding on road to his home in Homabay county for a night vigil, before his burial tomorrow Friday 4.
His remains was escorted by youths chanting traditional Luo songs as they marched towards the station and his home on his final journey on earth. Popular comedian Tumbili was among the youths marching in honour of the slain blogger who died in the hands of the police, mandated by the Constitution of Kenya to protect him.
Emotions were high during his requiem mass, as his mother emotionally recounted their morning routine when he visited them back home from his working station in Voi.
