United opposition was in Kakamega on Thursday, where their procession was interrupted after goons burnt tyres on Kakamega-Kisumu Highway, disrupting transport system.
“We have people who are who are spreading politics of hatred and tribalism. I want to tell my brother George Natembeya, you must respect Governor Italanyi. You are so overrated in Western. Nataka urudi hapa, ulete tena hiyo ujinga hapa, peleka Trans Nzoia,” Barasa remarked.
He added that the county will not accept leaders in the county promoting politics of division, he asked the bold Natembeya to come back and deal with him.
“If you think you are man enough, I dare you to come to Back and host a rally here again,” he added.
Following the attack, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i described the act as a nonsensical and stupid act from Barasa, for violating the constitution, which provides for freedom of movement for every Kenyan in any part of the country. The team further described called out Broad-Based government sympathizers as afraid of change that is cruising in the country.
Natembeya and the team were in Western Region for a two-day tour, to woo the region into their camp as they hit out to Kenya Kwanza government for failing to deliver their promises to Kenyans. Team convincing the Luhya community of their ability to deliver what President William Ruto’s government has failed to do.
Natembeya rallied the community to register as voters to have a higher political bargain power in national politics in 2027, and restore the community’s respect that has left the region impoverish despite having key leaders in government for years.
DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua further reminded the region how Barasa’s party leader Raila Odinga has misused the region for his political gains, and leaving the region under-developed despite getting into government after bargaining, and takes all development in his region.
