Health Cabinet Aden Duale came to the defense of his boss President William Ruto over his controversial remarks “enough is enough, to the opposition for continued threats towards his administration, stating that things in the country will take a different trajectory.
Speaking during a televised interview on Wednesday evening, Duale defended the president who claimed that the opposition is trying to remove him from government unconstitutionally.
A visibly angry Ruto dared anyone to oust him before 2027 General Elections, stating that he had been patient and silent, which he can no longer contain.
“Nataka niwaambie wale wanasema wanataka kunitoa kabla ya 2027 wajaribu waone. This is a democratic nation and Kenyans will choose the nation’s leadership through ballot. We cannot choose leadership through violence,” angry Ruto remarked on Wednesday morning.
While reinforcing the head of state’s remark, Duale said that anyone planning to burn a police station or law courts has committed an act of terrorism and must be charged.
The former Defence CS added that President William Ruto has the authority to use any means at his disposal to ensure the security and stability of the nation is achieved.
Duale further citing that Chief Justice Martha Koome had stated that the burning of Kikuyu Law Courts was an act of terrorism. He urged those who want to take power to use the available constitutional means.
“The president said it today; I have been very patient, very tolerant. The peace and stability of our nation. The life and the property of our people are at a stake and enough is enough! CJ Martha Koome is on record stating that the attack on Kiambu Law Courts is terrorism. If you attack security offices, it is not a normal crime; it is terrorism, so the perpetrators should watch the president’s speech. It is not going to be business as usual. If you want to seize power, it is only through democratic elections,” he remarked.
Duale further disputed earlier remarks made by former DP Rigathi Gachagua that President Ruto is using the Terrorism Act and profiling of the Kikuyu community to sabotage their businesses persecute leaders.
According to him, the president has given enough to the Mt. Kenya including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and eight Cabinet Secretaries, while other regions include Nyanza, Coast, and Western each having two ministers, while he is the only one from the North.
