Isiolo senator Fatuma Dullo has raised concern over her life, following the Senate’s decision to dismiss impeachment case against Governor Abdi Guyo on Tuesday.
Dullo faulted the Senate for dropping the case prematurely, terming the dismissal as disastrous following chaos witnessed in the County by opponents of Governor Guyo. Similar sentiments were echoed by senators Ali Roba and Aaron Cheruiyot who said justice had not been served to the people of Isiolo and the County Assembly.
Speaking after the impeachment motion, she further expressed her disappointment over claims by 31 senators who voted against the motion on whether the seating was held by Members of County Assembly (MCAs), as the situation in the county was tensed.
“Killing a motion at the PO level is disastrous. I wish the people who were negatively talking about the Assembly should have known what they have gone through. Some of them they have almost their lives in the circumstances. The circumstance under which the assembly sat was very difficult because they were almost losing their lives,” Dullo said.
She added that the County Assembly of Isiolo has been chaotic even before the tabling of impeachment motion against Guyo, claiming she fully understands the happenings in Isiolo County. She labelled the Senate as Soko Huru, for failing to have issues raised substantiated to prove Guyo’s innocent on allegations raised against him.
Dullo claimed that not only is her life in danger, but the lives of MCAs and the people of Isiolo, as the dismissal has favoured the people intimidating them. Dullo said following the premature dismissal by the Senate, County Assemblies across the country have lost faith in the Senate to administer Justice to counties.
“Isiolo is bleeding, Isiolo is not safe. The Assembly is not safe after today. I am not safe after today. Isiolo people will not be safe after today. I can see people fighting me on social media here. watching. If only this house could have listened to the proceedings to the end, then you would understand what is happening,” she remarked.
Her fears coming after a popular blogger and Tiktoker from the county and a supporter of Speaker Mohamed Roba is currently fighting for his life at the ICU, after he was attacked by unknown people who were trailing him for days.
She faulted the Amason Kingi led House has failed its oversight role, for dismissing the case. Further outlining the chaos at Isiolo County Assembly, currently faced with a leadership crisis after two members elected and gazetted by the government printer, by County Assembly Clerk Salad Boru.
