One person has died and six others were injured on Friday morning, when a lorry lost control at a steep location over faulty brakes, Dukana Ward from Saru Location North Horr Constituency in Marsabit County, while heading towards a cement location.
The incident confirmed by Dukana Sub-county Police cCommander Benson Ngari, said that two of the survivors sustained serious injuries from the accident morning incident. The body of the deceased was preserved at the facility waiting further arrangements and identification.
The victims were rushed to Dukana Dispensary for treatment as the body of the deceased was held at the facility waiting for identification by the family. According to Ngari, the lorry had 14 passengers on board and other cargo when the accident occurred
“A lorry was carrying 14 passengers developed issues with its brakes and lost control, which saw one person dying from the incident with two sustaining serious injuries and four with minor injuries 9.:00am on Friday morning. The vehicle was heading to Dukana Ward from Saru,” Ngari confirmed.
He urged residents to obey traffic rules to avoid accidents, as wedding season continues in the county, they should be cautious especially while driving, as well as avoid drinking and driving as they return from the festivals.
