Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has faulted the government for chaos witnessed on Monday as Kenyans turned out commemorate historic Saba Saba day, which turned chaotic and deadly.
Nyoro said that the Kenya Kwanza government should take full responsibility of the loss of lives, destruction of properties and looting of businesses.
Speaking at Wanjengi Coffee Factory in his Constituency. he questioned the ability of the country’s National intelligence Service (NIS) Capability to stop chaos and violence witnessed during recent series of protests.
Nyoro dismissed the narrative of the service being caught off0guard by protesters during the Saba Saba commemoration, further questioning the use of tax payers KSh 50 billion allocated to NIS in each financial year to gather intelligence on the state of security in the country.
“If the government cannot protect the lives and property of the people of Kenya while we give them Ksh.200 billion to do that work, then what is your work?” Nyoro questioned.
He called on the Kenya Kwanza administration to account for their actions, further adding that barricades mounted across main entry points to Nairobi CBD and the parts of the country on Monday clearly indicated that the government was ware of the plan by goons masquerading as protesters to cause mayhem.
Further poking holes on the chaos witnessed on Monday that has been blamed on Gen Zs, Nyoro questioned who looted the businesses and destroyed properties, when the police were manning the country. He adamantly maintained that the President William Ruto led administration was responsible for the lost lives and properties destroyed, and should thus take accountability.
“Siku ya Monday ni serikali ilikua inalinda mabarabara zetu zote…. kama ni serikali ililinda mabarabara zetu, wale walipita kuchoma mali ya watu walipita wapi? The government is cruelly responsible for either omission or commission, na muwache kupea wakenya story mingi kila wakati. We can see through the lines and we know for sure either the government was involved or it abetted those crimes and criminalities,” said Nyoro.
He called on government to stop fabricating theories on the unfortunate events that occurred on Monday, as Ruto close allies continue to blame former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for orchestrating, planning and financing violence.
