Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader Rigathi has said that the opposition team will support anyone among them that is settled to oust President William Ruto in the 2027.
Speaking in Seattle United States, Gachagua said that the united opposition consisting of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP Martha Karua, DAP-K Eugene Wamalwa and former Interior Cabinet Minister Fred Matiang’i will settle and forward one name as their presidential flag bearer.
“I have said if we pick Kalonzo Musyoka we will support him to the end. If we pick Fred Matiang’i, we will support him to the end. If we pick Eugene Wamalwa to the end. If we our sister Martha Karua we will support her to the end. If by the grace of God the pick Man Riggy G, nitakimbiza hii mtu kama baiskeli ya kuibiwa,” Gachagua said.
Despite the President William Ruto led fraction has said that they cannot be defeated by a team lacks a tangible agenda for the people, with Ruto Must Go being their only agenda. At a church service in Kakamega in June, President William Ruto said that even if he they defeated him, he will not hand over power to the team that lacks an agenda for the country.
Gachagua has maintained that his team will defeat the Ruto and his new political brother ODM leader Raila Odinga with 70 plus one, despite their union in the next general elections. According to Gachagua, Odinga has lost majority of his strongholds after joining the Kenya Kwanza government.
“I can tell you, even if they are together with Raila Odinga in the ballot, we will beat him 70 plus 1. I can tell you Raila Odinga brings nothing to the table, the Kambas have left him, Kisiis, Luhya have left, Maasai, and Luo is currently divided, even if they are together we will beat them 70 plus one,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua emphasized that Ruto’s one term is unstable, as Kenyans have decided they do not want him back, boldly telling him that Odinga can no longer deliver votes like he used to do, and nobody is planning to oust him illegally but through the ballot.
“The elections will be sorted out through the ballot. If Raila decides to run, Ruto will be number 4 in the elections so there is no problem either way we are okay with his one term. Do not be worried, the people of Kenya have made a decision and it has been finalized. Even if you kill people even if you jail them 70 plus 1 don’t want you back, the maximum you can get is 5% 65% is still ours so there is no escape route,” he further emphasized.
Gachagua blasted the statement by Odinga calling out the head of state following his shoot on the leg directive to the police during protests to immobilize protesters. He questioned Odinga instead of releasing a press statement and they are partners with Ruto, they should have a seat down and agree to stop because it is a wrong directive.
According to Gachagua, the move by Odinga can no longer sweep Kenyans off their feet, as they are clearly aware of his political stunts.
“I have seen Raila castigating ati shoot to kill order, how can he? William Ruto is his partner, why is he addressing through the press? they are brothers they just sit and talk and agree this is wrong and they should stop it so bwana raila odinga people of Kenya are not stupid, utanatuambia tufanye nini?” Gachagua questioned.
