Democratic Citizen Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua dismissed that he is not interested in overthrowing President William Ruto from State House through unconstitutional means.
On Wednesday July 9, visibly angry Ruto send a stern warning those who he claimed what to overthrow him from government not to dare him, as he has been patient and silent with them, but he will no longer tolerate them.
Ruto’s allies have since accused Gachagua for planning a coup to take over government, through sponsoring violent protests and staging protests, as witnessed currently in the country.
The head of state claiming that the Saba Saba protests on July 7 was not a protest, but a staged plan to outs him from power.
“I want to tell those characters giving us lectures that they can change this administration using violence and unlawful means before 2027, let them try,” angry Ruto said.
Before leaving the country for his US tour, Gachagua hilariously told the president to rest his case as nobody was planning to oust him unconstitutionally, but want to humiliate him on the ballot in 2027 General Elections. Emphasizing his remarks Gachagua stated that nobody wants him out illegally, but vow to remove him through the ballot.
“Nobody wants change unconstitutionally, nobody wants to overthrow the government, and nobody wants to do that, and it is not necessary. We want change through the ballot on the 10th of August 2027,” Gachagua reiterated.
Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, and senior leaders from the Kenya have constantly accused Gachagua in their rallies of being behind the chaos witnessed in the country, that has left business in ruins.
Speaking at a church service in Seattle on Sunday, former DP Gachagua further expressed his shock how his former boss lied to the church, easily convinced him by being truthful, a lesson he says he learnt the hard way. He faulted Ruto for attacking the church that scaled him to presidency.
“The church believed in the candidature of William Ruto, but they are the most disappointed lot in the country right now. Never again trust men. That is why we are in the hole today,” Gachagua remarked.
