Shabana FC has announced scheduled grassroot trials to scout new young talented players from Nyamira and Kisii counties, starting this Friday.
The team gudelines to participate in the trials include players below the age of 23 years, carry an original National Identification Card(ID), which is mandatory, come in full training kits (boots, shorts and jerseys), as well as strictly not playing for any team in the Kenya Premier League (KPL).
The trials in Nyamira County will be played in North Mugirango and West Mugirango at Sere Grounds on Friday, July 18 starting from 10:00am, with players expected to arrive from 9:00am.
On Saturday, the trials will be played of in Kitutu Masaba and Borabu at Rigoma Grounds, starting from 10:00am as well, with similar arrival time of 9:00am for all players.
The team has had a successful run in the 2024/2025 season, finishing in the fifth position, attracting its players to play for the national team. Shabana’s rising star 19-year-old Austin Odongo has been handed a call-up to the Harambee Stars squad.
Harambee Stars is currently in camp for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, which is set to begin on 2nd of August. The forward has been one of the few bright players for Shabana FC this season
