Nairobi County Environment Minister Geoffrey Mosiria is the latest to react in the viral photo of musician Bahati Kenya dressed in his wife’s Diana Marua short skirt and strap top.
In the viral video, Bahati is dressed in a two piece in orange in colour, and Diana’s wedge shoe. Mosiria finding it uncomfortabe and inappropriate, took to his social media and said he wanted to talk to the musician.
Reminding him that he is a father, Mosiria said that the act despite being being content, will will be an act of shame before his children in school, when other students decide to use it as against them. An act he said will demoralise them.
“There is something I have seen online. I want to talk to my brother Bahati, I’m just here to talk to my brother. Bahati, you know sometimes we are all parents; you are a father, but when you post yourself dressed in women clothes. Ile ya kwanza tulifikiria ni content, ulikua umevaa dress…..hii ya pili nayo..wakati unavaa braa na biker ya bibi yako…watoto wako wakiwa shule ama wameanza ile mchongoano halafu mtoto anamchongoa anamuambia wewe, babako huwa anavalia biker…hiyo matusi si ita ashame mtoto wako sana?” Mosiria questioned.
Mosiria further added that the act shares a different image to children, encouraging them that it is not wrong to dress in women’s clothes, further arguing that the act glorifies LGBTQ.
Mosiria said that despite his focus in cleaning the country’s capital, focus should also be put to ensure moral decay like what Bahati did is taken into focus. He asked Bahati to consider his status as a leader, as what he was doing was not morally upright as his children will be bullied with a single act for a moment to gain views.
“Bahati, what you are doing is not right, in fact you should apologize to the society of men and to the women because what you’re trying to portray is not a good image…you are encouraging gayism, you are encouraging bad morals, and you are also a disappointment to your children.,” he said.
Bahati has recently been known of creating controversial content, with a more cozy response to the outfit, clearly indicating that he cares less about people’s opinions.
