As criticism continue flow in against ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna remarks after he declared the MOU between UDA and ODM dead, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, has claimed that Sifuna demanded KSh 300 million to support the deal.
Sudi described Sifuna as a threat to development, for criticising the agreement between his party leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto to unite the country. Sudi further said Sifuna’s anger is because he was not included in the panel to unite the two leaders.
“Najua Sifuna anakasirika sana kwa sababu hakuwekwa kwa hiyo panel ya kukutanisha hawa wawili. There was no panel there Sifuna, The president himself talked to Raila Odinga and agreed to in very simple terms to unite the country and run the country. I know you asked for KSh 300,00 ndio utuunge mkono,” Sudi said.
He told the Nairobi Senator that “they” will not offer him anything, terming his sentiments as noise. He further accused him of turning into a political broker, and reiterating the support of Broad-Based government by Kenyans.
“Nataka kuambia wewe Sifuna, hatutakupea hata ndururu. Hiyo pesa tutajenga nayo barabara. We will not allow political brokers, who seat around in Nairobi speak too much English, and demand money. I want to tell you utashanga…. You will go around TV stations making noise but Broad-Based will remain important in the country and all of us support Broad-Based,” he added.
He told Sifuna to join former Deputy President Gachagua, who he said is championing political brokering across continents, terming the Gachagua’s led team is seeking money from ‘fools’, with Broad-Based government filled with the bright.
“Wewe enda ufanye kazi na Wamunyoro muendeleze siasa ya ubroker mkitafuta pesa kwa wajinga. We are all behind Broad Based government,” Sudi said.
Sudi’s criticism comes after Suna East MP Junet Mohamed said that it is only Odinga who can declare the MOU dead, asking Sifuna to quit, if he feels uncomfortable about the party’s agreement with Kenya Kwanza.
Sifuna has constantly declared that he does not recognize an entity called Broad-Based, and emphasized that ODM is not in government. According to him, the agreement died on June, after the death of X blogger Albert Ojwang’ at Central Police Station.
