Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced new changes within the Ministry and at a regional level.
In a statement released by Murkomen on Saturday, July 26, he stated that the change is a move to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery within the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
“To enhance service delivery within the national government administration cadres, deployment has been re-organised to take effect immediately,” Murkomen stated.
The changes effected include; Jacob Narengo Namulen appointed as the Principal Administrative Secretary for Internal Security, taking a central role in coordinating national security matters, Beverly K. Opwora appointed National Administration.
Opwora will reinforce government’s push to to enhance efficiency and oversight within the administrative hierarchy. Thomas Saka has been moved to Secretary Internal Security, while Moses Kipkoech Lilan appointed Secretary for National Administration.
Dickson Liyayi Magotsi appointed as Secretary for Policy and Liaison – a critical role in facilitating coordination between national government departments and agencies.
The changes at regional level has seen two new Regional Commissioners appointed. The two Gilbert Kitiyo and Joshua Nkanatha, have been appointed to oversee security in Nairobi and Central regions respectively.
