The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness led by Prophet David Owour has strongly condemned the false and misleading information going around claiming they Owour said that the world will come to an end on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
In a statement by the Ministry, they stated that their lead has always reinforced on the coming of Jesus as unknown to anyone, citing Holy Bible Mathew 24:36, which states that “Nobody knows The Day or The Hour When The Messiah Will Return.”
According to the church’s leadership, they claimed the claims were unfounded and aimed at tainting the reputation of the prophet, as well as the unity of the church.
“These claims are false, baseless, malicious and intended to harm not only the reputation of the prophet of the Lord Dr. David Owour and the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, but also the unity and testimony of the church,” read a part of the statement.
They called on bloggers and media to avoid disseminating unverified information to the public, which could lead to panic and misleading the church. They further called on the church to remain vigilant and prayerful.
“We urge all media houses, bloggers, content creators, all social media users and the general public to refrain from sharing or entertaining unverified allegations. As believers, we are called to pursue truth peace and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip, but instead be diligent in prayer, discernment and unity,” further read the statement.
The claims of the world coming to an end was widely spread on social media, with Kenyans reacting on the news to create content and teasing the Prophet of Lord.
