Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has told off the opposition that they are ready to face opposition in the the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking at his home county in Tharaka Nithi at his Irunduni home in Mukothima, where he hosted over 1,500 youths from Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties on Friday, Kindiki said that the opposition has nothing to offer and will flog them come 2027.
“Na wale wanapiga kelele huko nje agenda yao ni nini? Hawana agenda!Ni kusema tu sijui nini wantam. Hawa majamaa tutawanyorosha, tunagonjea tu campaign ifike,” Kindiki remarked.
The DP confidently said that President William Ruto has not yet kicked off campaigns, as he is still delivering his mandate to the people of Kenya. He further said that the opposition have no full understanding of Ruto.
According to him, once the presidents hits the ground for his political campaigns, the opposition will leave the ground for him, boldly stating that the opposition are behind the political tactics of the Head of State.
“You know President William Ruto has not yet started his engine for campaign. These people have only seen William Ruto at night and not day time. Hawamjui vizuri, hawakumuona vizuri. He has not yet began his political campaign. When the time comes, these people will go missing. I am telling you,” he further remarked.
Giving his political journey and friendship with Ruto, Kindiki said he saw the potential of Ruto being the Head of State way back in their days at the Hague, where he was representing him and facing charges over the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence.
“During the Hague cases, I had seen that President William Ruto would one day become president. He later became the Deputy President and helped Uhuru for 10 years. Now he is president. The work of fighting the president is not for the deputy president; it is the role of the opposition. The role of the Deputy President is to assist the president,” he said.
Kindiki is emphasizing earlier remarks by leaders in Kenya Kwanza government, who have constantly shade the opposition for lacking an agenda to transform the country, but chanting Ruto Must Go, Kasongo and Wantam.
President William Ruto has affirmed in his speeches that the current opposition has nothing tangible to offer the country, as his development record will speak for him before the electorates in 2027. He said that if he is defeated, he will not hand over power to people with no agenda for the country.
“Wengine hawana mpango, don’t waste your time. We cannot handover power to people with no plan. Their only plan is Ruto Must Go, how will that help you? You have no plan to do anything!” Ruto remarked in June at a Thanksgiving Service in Kakamega County.
