Kenyan football sensation and Harambee Stars forward Benson Omalla has officially completed a move to Visakha FC, one of the top clubs in the Cambodia Premier League. The former Gor Mahia striker has signed a three-year contract, marking a significant step in his professional career as he ventures into Asian football.
Omalla, who was one of the standout performers for Gor Mahia and a crucial part of the Kenyan Premier League title-winning side in 2024, has long been admired for his goal-scoring prowess, pace, and intelligent positioning on the pitch. His impressive form both domestically and on the international stage with the Harambee Stars caught the attention of Visakha FC scouts, leading to this landmark transfer.
The 22-year-old leaves Gor Mahia as one of their most prolific strikers in recent years, having consistently been among the league’s top scorers.
Speaking after sealing the deal, Omalla expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career.
“I am grateful to Gor Mahia for giving me the platform to showcase my talent and to the Kenyan fans who always supported me. I look forward to this new challenge with Visakha FC and hope to make a big impact in Cambodia,” he said.
Visakha FC, known for their ambitious football projects and competitive edge in the Cambodia Premier League, have shown their intent to strengthen their attacking options with the acquisition of Omalla. The club is aiming to clinch the league title and make a strong showing in regional competitions, and they believe Omalla’s addition will be key to achieving these goals.
Benson Omalla’s move also highlights the growing trend of Kenyan players seeking opportunities abroad, particularly in emerging football markets across Asia, which offer both competitive play and financial incentives.
