Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale lectured Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Abdi, over their remarks of ensuring that they will rig elections to ensure President William Ruto secures a second term in 2027 General Elections.
Speaking in Shimanyiro village of Idakho North, Khalwale cautioned the two leaders on the dangers of their planned motive. He slammed Abdi of the region’s votes not anywhere close to his Ikolomani Constituency votes, even by a half.
“I want to tell politicians led by Oscar Sudi and and kasichana kengine kanatoka huko North Eastern. They are saying in 2027 General Elections, if the votes do not fill their basket, they will fill it. Votes in North Eastern its not even half of Ikolomani, you have no votes, where votes are, don’t talk, shut up! We know what it means to rig an election it is an experiment which is very dangerous,” he said.
Taking a turn to respond to Sudi who has constantly said that President William Ruto will not be the first president to serve one term, as they will not allow it, Khalwale blatantly said he would have responded to Sudi if he was educated enough.
“Ungekuwa umesoma vizuri ningekujibu,” he said in his native language.
Khalwale further called on the commissioners of Independent and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), to carry its duties with diligence, urging the new Chairman Erastus Ethekon that the elections are free and fair, as that is what all Kenyans require from them.
“I want to appeal to the Commissioners of IEBC, led by Erastus Ethekon the new leader and all those involved, to make sure that elections are free and fair, nothing is more important,” he urged.
His remarks coming after Ethekon while in Mombasa weeks ago assured Kenyans that the Commission will be guided by the Constitution, disputing remarks by allies of the Head of State in plot to rig elections, stating that the Commission will conduct a transparent free and fair election.
He further cautioned the political class of their callous remarks terming them as dangerous, as they could lead to unnecessary tension that could result to violence.
Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni had raised similar concerns over plans to rig elections by offering young people IDs he claimed are fake, and frustrating them during the application process.
