Former Trans Nzoia Member of county Assembly (MCA) and a close ally of Governor George Natembeya Benard Muganda has been attacked by goons in Chwele Town in Bungoma County.
The former Ford Kenya Member was roughed up by goons at a petrol station in Chwele in a viral video shared by Standard Digital on Saturday, showed the goons beating him up, armed with Machetes and rungus, asking him who has send him.
The goons did not stop beating him up, despite pleas to explain, as another witness in the video asks them not to use a panga on him, as the goons ignored his calls and continued to descent with their rungus on him.
According to close sources linked to Muganda, they told Isfa Media that the MCA was badly wounded by the goons. The source further said that the former MCA almost lost his right eye, and other multiple body injuries from the heinous act by the goons.
“They almost killed me, one of my eyes is almost gone,” the former MCA told the source.
Muganda is currently admitted at Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kitale Town, where he is currently receiving treatment following the attack.
His attack comes a day after united opposition was attacked at the same place on their last day of the Western Region Tour on Friday. The goons aimed their attack to the entourage, which led to damage on a number of vehicles belonging to the opposition.
The team blamed National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Sirisia MP John Waluke for hiring goons to attack their people, Former Kakamega Senator said that the goons aimed at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, at the watch of police officers, who failed to act.
His attack comes as members and youths aligned to opposition have been harassed by the Kenya Kwanza government for supporting former Gachagua, currently there is a public outrage following dramatic rearrest of DCP Youth leader Njeri Wa Kahiga, who was picked by anti-terror unit immediately after she was released on a cash bail by the Court.
