According to Wakoli, Natembeya must be held accountable for what he is doing with the budget allocation of the county, to the residents of Trans Nzoia.
“Governor Natembeya will come before my committee of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, to explain and account to the what he is doing in Trans Nzoia. Wait and see how we will deal with him. Everyone must be held accountable of their actions. Leave him to us,” Wakoli remarked.
Wakoli urged the leaders to leave the fight to him, as humble the governor. His remarks indirectly hitting the recent graft allegations case the governor is battling at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), over misappropriation of KSh 1.4 billion.
Natembeya close allies and top county officials were also charged in the graft, of the key projects in the county including Tom Mboya Mother Baby Hospital, Kenyatta Stadium Phase two and county headquarters.
However, Natembeya said his case is used to settle political scores, after his adamant critic of government to make systems work, and call for the unity and respect of the Mulembe community, so that they can have a high political bargaining power in national politics.
He said that the call for the community’s unity has irritated a section of leaders, who want to politically misuse the community, with no benefit and development are directed towards the region. He said he will not be intimidated in his course to ensure he community receives it’s rightful position.
Following the case, Natembeya has been barred from accessing his office for 60 days, and currently operating from Kiminini Sub-County, where he said that the move will help him perform better and listen to issues affecting residents in Mashinani.
