Driven by the symbol of a listening year, former deputy president and Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has said the launch of his party will be historic.
Speaking on Saturday at an interview with Youtuber Oga Obinna, Gachagua said the party has given his former boss William Ruto sleepless nights. The party official launch will be communicated on later date, just like the unveiling of the party which was announced two days prior.
“DCP is the new kid in block, we have seen the discomfort it has caused William Ruto and company. He has seen nothing yet, The launch will be something that has never been seen in the history of our political parties in this country. Thousands of our supporters will be here in Nairobi, during our official launch on a date that will be communicated,” Gachagua remarked.
According to Gachagua, his party that is hopeful of forming the next government, will give leadership opportunity to you ng people and nurture them as heir political professor, as the young people have shown a potential of leading the country.
“This millennials and Gen Zs have the solutions to the problems, our new administration which I hope I will lead, my strategy is to listen to the people of Kenya on how they want to be governed, and what needs to be done, it will have experienced people backed with fresh people and energy. I believe them, I want to mentor them by giving them a chance to lead,” he further stated.
According to Gachagua, he is the luckiest party leader in the country, as he is surrounded by young people, who have solutions including emerging issues like technology and a wide range of knowledge.
“I have surrounded myself with youthful people to benefit from their freshness of their ideas, their perspective and wide knowledge from interacting with their fellow young people. I’m the luckiest party leader in this country with this group of these young people bustling with knowledge exposure and ambition you cannot go wrong,” he proudly said.
However, his party has received criticism from his previous allies, as a small party aligned to diving Kenyans, including from Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia.
