The management of Eldoret Sports Club in Eldoret City Uasin Gishu County, has announced cancellation of booking made by Kalenjin comedian Senge Hellena show scheduled for August 2, 2025.
In a viral letter dated June 27 signed by the Club’s Secretary Samson Changwony, expressed his regrets for cancelling the Tos Majehovah show, Changwony stated that the comedian’s team was yet to acknowledge the charge quotation made by the club.
He however clarified that the cancellation was due to the current heightened political temperatures in the country, which has led to the immediate cancellation of the venue booked ahead of his show.
“Reference is made to your letter dated 30th May 2025, requesting to use Eldoret Sports Club ground on 2nd August 2025 for your event, (Tos Majehovah Show), and subsequent quotation on the same date, which you are yet to acknowledge, we regret to let you know that, due to security situation in the country, we hereby cancel hosting the event here at Eldoret Sports Club Grounds with immediate effect, kindly bear with us and sorry for the inconveniences caused,” read the letter.
The comedian’s woes started when he participated in Wednesday, June 25, 2025 Gen Z led anniversary protests to honour the young people who died during the 2024 Anti Finance Bill protests at Parliament buildings, which left over 60 youths killed across the country.

After posting a photo as he and his friends joined other Kenyans in marking the day and calling an end to police brutality, poor leadership, increased abduction and forced disappearances, government bloggers called for his mass following and not to purchase tickets for his shows.
However, Senge Hellena received a backing from online users, who defended saying that it his right to participate in protests as it is a right enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya. Popular Comedian Propesa urged netizens to support him by purchasing his ticket for the show to stand in solidarity with the targeted.
