Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi came to the aid of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, following attacks from Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, who has constantly called for resignation of Murkomen over incompetence.
Firing back at Cherargei, Sudi said that Cherargei attacks are not aimed at Murkomen but President William Ruto, and asked Cherargei to directly tell the president.
According to the controversial legislator, Cherargei’s heart has always been with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, and blatantly asked him to join Wamunyoro.
“Stop going through the corners by attacking Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen when you know very well it’s President William Ruto you are targeting. Man up and face him directly. We are not fools and we know that your heart is in Wamunyoro’s camp. Be bold and cross over to serve your master freely,” Sudi wrote.
The fierce exchange between Cherargei and Murkomen escalated further yesterday when Murkomen was before the Senate to answer on the murder of X blogger Albert Ojwang’ Omondi at Central Police Station over the weekend.
During the session, Murkomen said that Cherargei was his student and constantly performed below average, and is not in any position fit to call for his resignation over incompetence, saying that Cherargei has been blaming him in all ministries he has held since appoint by the president.
In response, Cherargei refuted claims by Murkomen of being his student, stating that he cannot be taught by an incompetent person, and the defense by Murkomen was to save himself from being held accountable by Kenyans on the deaths of Ojwang, Fr, Allois Bett, Fr. Maina and the surging criminal gangs in Nakuru and Mombasa.
“For the record CS Murkomeno never taught me in any class of law he was just making political statements to save his skin from accountability and his poor performance in the ministry of interior. He should answer Kenyans who kill Albert Ojwang , Fr. Allois Cheruiyot Bett, Fr. Maina , Angata Baragoi killings, criminal gangs in Nakuru & Mombasa ? He must RESIGN!. We shall not be intimidated from demanding justice, transparency and accountability for Kenya. How can incompetent person teach me ? It can’t happen,” Cherargei responded.
