Former North Horr MP Chachu Ganya has called on Gen Zs to criticize the government in ways that cannot bring about conflict, as well as give the government an opportunity to deliver on their promises.
Speaking with a local radio station, Ganya called on Kenyans to give President William Ruto time to work for the people, on the agenda that he promised them during campaigns in 2022.
The former legislator also commended the decision by former prime minister Raila Odinga and the president for working together in the broad-based government, citing the progress made after the union, including the neutralization of cattle rustling in the county, promising to work with the two leaders.
“I’m in the Broad-Based government, despite many challenges, the government has managed to unity Kenyans and bring development. In our areas as pastoralist President William Ruto is the first leader to ensure that the rampant cattle rustling in our area comes to an end in our country,” Ganya commended.
Ganya rubbished the recent report by TIFA, that showed 75% of Kenyans believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction, saying that development projects by Kenya Kwanza administration is a proof that the administration is working.
” This government has delivered, look at the current exchange of our currency with the dollar, food situation in our country has improved, there is so much progress in the country, that is just politics, which will always there,” Ganya stated.
He further condemned the recent cases of abductions in the country, calling on government to ensure they stop the cases, as earlier promised by the president. He urged the Gen Zs to use dialogue and other peaceful methods to present their grievances.
“Our young men should also help in promoting peace in the country and use correct channels to present their complains, as the president has confirmed that there will be no abductions in the country, and the government to take responsibility of the reported cases,” Ganya urged.
The legislator has announced his gubernatorial bid in 2027 general elections for Marsabit County through the Broad-Based party, has called on residents to promote and maintain peace, to allow development in the county.
” Peace is core for progress and development of any nation, for without peace nothing can grow. Let us maintain peace to spearhead development from the health sector to education to promote development in Marsabit,” Ganya urged.
