The whole family died in the fatal accident, as picture inside the Boeing 787- 8 Dreamliner, had been posted on their social media before the plane took off from Ahmedabad Airport.
According to his social media post, Prateek lived in London, he had returned to India to pick his family to go and start a new life in the United Kingdom. Barely 30 seconds after taking off, the plane crashed and burst into flames, killing the whole family together with other 200-plus passengers.
According to a report by The Guardian from Flightradar24 website, the plane’s signal was lost seconds after takeoff when the plane had reached a height of 625ft , and later came down in the residential area of Meghani Nagar just after taking off at 1.38pm local time (09:08 BST).
The footage posted to social media showed the aircraft rapidly losing altitude – with its nose up – before it hit a building and exploded in a ball of fire.
The sole survivor, British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh who sat in seat 11A, is recovering in hospital with his brother saying he “has no idea how he survived”.
The fatal crash left 241 people on board the London-bound flight died when it crashed into a residential area shortly after take-off on Thursday, but it is not yet established how many people died on the ground.
The Boeing crash is not the first to claim dozens of life, in March 2019, Boeing plane crashed, just six minutes after takeoff from Addis Ababa on its way to Kenya, killed all 157 people on board. Relatives of 155 of the victims had sued Boeing between April 2019 and March 2021 for wrongful death, negligence and other charges.
