Irate residents has burnt a woman to death, after she was suspected of torching a house leading to death of five family members in Kachewa village in Bulla Pesa area in Isiolo county on Tuesday night.
The tragic incident claimed the life of a mother, her three children and a cousin. The suspect a woman, was lynched by the angry mob before they set her on fire alive.
According to the locals, the deceased suspect had issued a threat to the mother of three three days ago, before the fatal incident happened on Tuesday night.
Under unclear circumstances, a fire engulfed and burnt the five to death after they were trapped in side the house in the middle of the night, with efforts by the residents to rescue the five victims ending in vain, as even the county fire and emergency services arrived when the whole structure was completely turned into ashes.
As police launch investigations into the heinous act, they condemned the act of residents taking action and the attack, warning against vigilante actions.
The authorities have urged residents to remain calm and allow the law to take course, in investigating the two incidents, including the mob justice.
The horrific incident leaving residents of Bulla Pesa shocked and in grief, with elders and religious leaders calling for peace and using legal procedures to solve misunderstanding and avoid revenge, as it escalates the situations further.
