Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed claims of working with the Kenya Kwanza government, stating that the calls from the leaders in government is a strategy to sanitize their injustice.
Musyoka called on his followers not to believe the false propaganda, as he will never work with President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga, under the Broad-Based government.
“I want to make it clear: I will never work with this blood-based regime. Let no one be misled by those peddling falsehoods and attempting to use my name to sanitize injustice,” Musyoka clarified.
His remarks follows a series of sentiments by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, stating that he has no issue with Musyoka, and he will look for him, as he is a good leader being mislead by the DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua, whom he accused of spreading division in the country through tribal politics.
Additionally, Kindiki said that he is the best deserving leader to be the friend of Musyoka, as compared to his predecessor Gachagua, remarks he made in Musyoka’s backyard in Ukambani. However, Gachagua had also dismissed the calls, terming them as calls of desperation from the Ruto’s regime.
Additionally, Musyoka emphasized his earlier declaration of June 25 being a public holiday, to honour the lives of young Kenyans who died during the 2024 anti-finance bill protests. He called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers on that day with candles to commemorate the young souls killed by the police.
“June 25th will be a public holiday – a solemn day to honour our fallen Gen Z heroes. We shall lay flowers along Parliament Road, light candles, and remember them with the dignity they deserve. We urge all Kenyans to honour our children and come with a rose, and a candle. Their blood and sacrifice must not go in vain,” Musyoka emphasized.
The declaration was dismissed by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa’h, who said that a declaration of public holiday can only be made by the government through the ministry of Interior, stating that Musyoka’s declaration is politically instigated.
He further blasted the opposition for using the Gen Zs death to advance their political agenda, and called on them to stop politicking with the lives of Kenyans.
