Former personal assistant to Raila Odinga, Lawyer Silas Jakakimba and his wife Florence Adhiambo announce divorce after almost four years of marriage.
In a joint statement released by Jakakimba on his official X account on Thurday, July 17, he stated that their divorce comes after a mutual agreement to end their marriage, following a difficult moment the former aid to Odinga did not mention.
“After careful consideration and much reflection, we – Silas Jakakimba and Florence Adhiambo, have made the difficult but in certain and often times – extremely considerate decision to separate. This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another,” read a part of the statement.
Jakikimba expressed his gratitude to the two families for supporting their decision to separate with his wife Florence, as well as the church for standing with them in their moment of transition to the new chapter of life, and asked for privacy from the members of the public, clarifying that he will not be offering the public any other explanation in the future about their decision.
“Noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public. We remain fully committed to maintaining the privacy and well-being of our Family during this transition,” further read the statement.
The two were married in a lavish wedding three years ago, that was attended by celebrities and leaders from all political divides. He asked for privacy and respect as he goes through the process.
“We ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this personal matter. We will not be making any further public statements whatsoever regarding this matter at this or, at any other time – and we do appreciate your understanding,” read the statement.
