Lawyer Willis Otieno has slammed President William Ruto’s government for directing its focus on the wrong issues and agendas affecting the county, and instead focused on trivial issues that are less of concern to Kenyans.
Otieno said that the governments instead of focusing in rebuilding the country’s ailing economy, it is focused on fixing social media, which has been a tool that has in the recent days exposed the rogue doings of the Kennya Kwanza government.
“We are witnessing a government that cannot fix the economy but is obsessed with fixing social media!” He remarked.
His remarks comes barely a day after Dagoretti North legislator Beatrice Elachi, during the National Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, May 28, while praying asked God to help them fix the issue of social media that has left youths helpless, and give the government wisdom to deal with the issue.
“Our youth are hopeless, and we pray that the spirit of social media running our country is dealt with. May we stand for what is best for our nation and future generations. We want to confess, as legislators, that we must indeed address that sector. We shall have the courage to stand and believe in what is good for our country. Father, forgive us,” Elachi prayed.
The prayer point seemingly not appreciated with a section of Kenyans, who asked her not to interfere with social media, as it has done much that what Kenya Kwanza has done for the people of Kenya since coming into the office.
Further hitting on Ruto, Otieno said the government has failed to watch on key sectors of the country like education, healthcare, and Kenyans struggling with high prices and poverty rates, it has instead directed efforts and millions to prayer and political rallies and failing to fund critical pillars in the economic, but has money for foreign trips and political intimidations.
“A government that cannot afford to fund national exams but can effortlessly spend millions in a single day on state-sponsored prayer rallies. A government that pleads poverty when it comes to school fees, bursaries, healthcare, and food prices but finds bottomless pockets for political pageantry, foreign trips, and image laundering,” Otieno further remarked.
Earlier, Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna had hit out to the president for focusing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) popularity polls, that have given him comfort and failing to wok for the people of Kenya. He advised the president that the polls will not help him, but fulfill his promises and work ion improving the lives of Kenyans already struggling with high economic times.
