The Liverpool club has again dropped two away points after a 2-2 draw on aggregate against Aston Villa.
In the match played at Aston Villa’s home ground, Villa Park, Liverpool were the first to score through Mohamed Salah in the 29th minute.
However, two quick goals from Yuri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins in the 38th and 45th minutes, along with goalkeeper Alison Becker’s mistakes, gave Unai Emery’s men the lead in the first half.
Liverpool survived the defeat and got one point in the tournament after the goal of the British defender Trent Alexdar Anold shook the net in the 61st minute of the second half.
Liverpool’s efforts to win the match failed after Uruguayan Darwin Nunez missed two clear chances in the last minutes.
