After a week of conflict witnessed in Dukana and North Horr Constituency, Wayu community earlier displaced following a deadly ethnic conflict that left four people dead, the community has left the camp back to their homes after calmness was restored in the area.
The displaced community had taken shelter at Catholic Mission, after a vengeful act from the two communities that left a seven month pregnant woman nursing gunshot injuries, and several houses burnt down to ashes.

Earlier, elders from the area convened a meeting that aimed to understand the root cause of the conflict in the area, whether it is politically instigated or from traditional perspective, and a find a lasting solution for the conflict.
On Friday during a meeting that brought together villagers and some security leaders in Marsabit county, DCC Peter Kimani urged elders to ensure that the guns used to murder the four residents be returned to police stations or chiefs offices in the area.
Kimani authoritatively stated that the return of guns is not a plea but a demand, as security officials in the county continue with security check operations to nab the perpetrators of the heinous acts, derailing development in the county.
His sentiments aligning with the county boss Mahmoud Ali, who called on residents to maintain and promote peace in the county, as the actions scare investors within the county to spark development in the area. Ali was speaking during the opening of Marsabit Trade Fair that attracted investors and business people to exhibitions.
