A Court in Marsabit County has sentenced a man for four years in jail for threatening to kill his wife, after the court found him guilty of the charges against him.
The accused Roba Katello was found to have threatened to kill his wife Habiba Katello with a knife in an incident happened in September, 10 2024 at Matta Arva area in Saku Constituency.
Marsabit Law Courts Senior Magistrate Simon Arome sentence Katelo a father of three children to four years in prison. The suspect has 14 days to appeal the ruling by Justice Arome on his sentence.
His sentences comes after he had completed his serving his sentence of 18 months, following destruction of property at his own homestead.
The Court found Katello culpable of destroying property including tattering of his children birth certificates, uniforms and clothes belonging to his wife.
In Majengo Marsabit Central Ward, two suspect were arraigned at Marsabit Law Courts after assaulting a 17-year-old girl with hot slasher on her buttocks, and later threatened to kill her if she speaks up.
The two suspects Hani Boru the mother to the victim, and his elder brother Hassan Daesa, are said to have committed the heinous act to the girl, after allegations of the girl being involved in a romantic relation in the area.
The two have been charged with two cases including child abuse, a crime that was committed on June 15.
