Senior Economic Advisor to President William Ruto Moses Kuria, has announced his resignation from his duty post under Kenya Kwanza government, after the president accepted his resignation.
Kuria posted on his X account on Tuesday July 8 evening, announcing his exit from government, and further expressing his gratitude to the head of state, for according him an opportunity to serve in his government as Cabinet Secretary for Ministry, Trade and Industry, Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management.
“This evening I have met my boss and my friend President William Ruto. The President has graciously accepted my decision to resign from government. I thank President Ruto for having given me an opportunity to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry for 11 months, Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management for 9 months and Senior Economic Advisor for the last 10 months,” Kuria stated.
According to Kuria, his decision comes a mutual agreement, as he chants way for his personal interests away from public service. Kuria said he leaves Kenya Kwanza a satisfied soul, after helping President William Ruto to implement his main agenda, Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“As I move on to pursue personal interests I am proud of the work the President and I did to implement the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda which I designed together with the President as our 2022 Electoral Platform. Long Live Kenya,” Kuria asserted.
Kuria was appointed to the position, after 2024 Gen Z led protests that mounted pressure to the head of state to fire his Cabinet over incompetence.
