As the political temperatures in the country continue to take shape, the entry of former Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’I to the race, has brought unprecedented tension in the political space.
However, according to Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, the 2027 General elections will have the same political enemies and friends coming together and forming coalitions.
“This old Machiavellian politics of the same leaders who have worked together since the Moi regime, forming coalitions, separating later, rejoining again is what we are going to witness in this Wamunyoro team and Ruto formations again,” he said.
A section allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto, whom he says have been since the time of the late president Daniel Moi, which the young generation is against.
He added that a section of the leaders will work with his party leader Raila Odinga, and the cycle of recycling leaders from old generation continues. Amisi said that the young generation is no longer interested in ethnic politics, but leaders with a vision for the country.
“Half will work with Ruto and the other half with ODM and the circus continues. That is exactly what the new generation is against. Young people no longer going to follow perennial losers and political dinosaurs who have no agenda for Kenya other than ethnic kingpins,” he further stated.
Political analysts have anticipated of the Gen Zs bring a political shift in the country, if their stand against tribalism and call for their colleagues to register for National Identification cards (ID), as well as register as voters, will bring a political shift in the country.
They are the largest population in the country, with every political camp trying to woo them, for their votes. Former Chief Justice David Maraga presented himself as the best candidate fronted by them. Like the opposition, he has been calling on government to treat the neglected group with dignity.
