Popular Mugithi singer and police officer Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh has hinted his return to country after the current political temperatures in country cool down.
Samidoh who visited the country shortly recently, has been out of the country for several months, leaving fans eager for his return. The embattled police officer shared his ongoing tour of the United States, with scheduled performances in Boston and Texas.
Following the post, a curious question from the a follower that triggered his response to returning to the country, questioning whether he does not miss home at all, and when is he returning.
“Kwani hautumiss ukuje?” the fan asked.
In his response, Samido responded with,” Nitakuja soon.” Implying of his much awaited return in the country, after months in the United States.
Before his long stay in the US, Samidoh has been the face of controversies, after turning up at the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s Karen residence, where artists from Mt. Kenya region were hosted by Kindiki.
After the visit, he received a lot of backlash from his fans, who forced him to apologize and chant Wantam, in one of his shows, or they boycott his performances. This later putting him at a scuffle with senior political figures and his bosses at the National Police Service (NPS).
Following the standstill, NPS released a statement claiming Samidoh had absconded his duties after he was transferred from Gilgil to Anti-Stock Theft Unit, failed to report back to duty on May 27 following the lapse of his leave.
Samidoh had failed to report at his duty station 10 days after deployment, which followed action by NPS suspending his salary in May.
“The officer was granted an off-duty and was supposed to report back on 27/05/2025, but he failed. Since then, he has not been seen and his whereabouts is not known and efforts to trace him have been futile. He has now absented himself without leave for more than 10 days and he is hereby declared a deserter. Pay section stop his salary with immediate effect,” read the statement from NPS.
