Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has told off leaders from Maasai community in Narok and Kajiado for visiting Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to assure him of their support in 2027.
The leaders led by Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo, led a delegation of leaders to Gachagua’s Wamunyoro home in Nyeri County on June, Monday 23.
Laughing at Gachagua for his attempts to get the regions political support, Ledama affirmed that the Maa region is solely politically behind the Broad-Based Government, between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga for the 2027 re-election.
The ODM Senator posted on his X account on Monday evening, dismissing the delegation to Wamunyoro stating that they have no say to talk on behalf of the Maa Community.
“We have a few perennial losers who paid a courtesy call to an impeached individual named Riggy G. Get it from me, Maasai Votes are intact and will fully support William Ruto and Raila Odinga,” Ledama wrote.
Despite Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna dismissing that the party is not in government, his colleagues have expressed their support behind the re-election of Kenya Kwanza government in 2027, with political hints that the Broad-Based Government could evolve into a full coalition in the the next general elections.
Ledama sentiments came as Gachagua announced between the two Maa counties will be the venue of the official launch f the Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP), on July 7. However, Gachagua stated that the official venue will be communicated soon, and urged the leaders to be ready to receive and welcome DCP delegates from across the country.
He faulted government for using state agencies to frustrate the party’s effort to launch the party, after Sports Kenya declined them access to Kasarani Stadium, stating that it is under renovations to host CHAN 2025 competitions in August.
“The launch was initially planned for Nairobi, but the state interfered with venue booking. I now ask the Maa community to host this important event in their region. This DCP party is yours. I am requesting, if you agree, that the launch ceremony—which we had initially planned to hold in Nairobi be held here among the Maa people instead. If you agree, will you do it?” Gachagua questioned.
