Former Motosiet Member of County Assembly (MCA) Bernard Muganda, has responded to remarks by Bungoma senator David Wakoli, of dealing with Governor George Natembeya, when he appears before the Senate Agriculture Committee.
Muganda has slammed Wakoli saying that he is not fit to address Natembeya in that manner, as he scaled into leadership through the help of the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who imposed him to the people of Bungoma when he still had their support.
“We understand that you got into Senate after Wetang’ula imposed you on the people of Bungoma, when people were still listening to him, Wakoli respect Natembeya, as we respect you when you visit Trans Nzoia, stop making reckless remarks and respect people!” Muganda said.
Speaking in Bungoma yesterday, Wakoli likened Natembeya to Barnabas the thief in the bible, saying that leaders should not be worried, as he will deal with him when he comes to answer the queries before the committee he chairs.
He asked the youthful senator to trade wisely, as he is only two years into leadership, and should not allow leaders to use him as political history shows how such powerful individuals end up after politics.
He further slammed the senator and his former boss who misled the Luhya community to join Kenya Kwanza, claiming that the community will receive 30% shares when they come into power, to date nothing has been handled, lamenting of how other regions are receiving development and billions pumped, yet the community has nothing to show off.
“Before you call Natembeya Barnabas and crucify him, you misled us to join Kenya Kwanza that the Luhya community will have 30%, now they are employing police officers, our young men missing out, billions of development projects are going to other regions, as our people remain suffering. When you are told the truth, you threaten us by being in power, remember power comes to an end,” he further remarked.
He reinforced that Natembeya is the Kingpin of the community, and dared them to march out and rally like Natembeya did, to see if they will receive a similar response Natembeya received while he was returning from Nairobi after arrest by EACC.
” If you feel like Natembeya is your equal, go out and do rallies as he did and let us see if you’re fit and more powerful than him! Natembeya is our Kingpin, and we are not going to be threatened by any form of intimidation,” Muganda dared the Ford-Kenya senator.
He reminded him that he was a member of the party, and fully understands the tactics they plan to use to intimidate Natembeya, and should now understand that Natembeya is the new Kingpin accepted by the community.
