
The Standard: Coinciding with Budget Reading day, angry Kenyans and human rights activist took to the streets of Nairobi to protest over the killing of X blogger Albert Ojwang’ at Central Police Station in Nairobi.
Disregarding the day, protesters filled the air with chants of ‘No Justice No Budget’, outside the police police headquarters, with the silence of the police boss making it worse, the angry crowd demanded the DIG KIPS Eliud Lagat to step down.
Daily Nation: After police boss IG Douglas Kanja said that Lagat will only resign if IPOA mentions him in their findings on the investigation of Ojwang’s death. Marching towards Central Police Station to Bunge Towers, protesters engaged police in running battles, with a number of them sustaining injuries and two vehicles torched.
While demanded justice for the slain blogger top police boss were before the National Assembly Committee answering on the death, while National Treasury CS tabled the Finance Bill 2025.
