North Horr MP Wario Guyo has expressed his support for re-election of President William Ruto for a second term in 2027 General Elections.
Guyo elected in with an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party declared his support for the party, dismissing divisive politics being spread by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, whom he accused of attempting to divide Kenyans.
Speaking during a relief distribution presided by Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku in Moyale Constituency Marsabit County on Friday, Guyo dubbing Gachagua “Mzee wa Mitego”, thriving in politics of shares, stating that the regions at the borders should be the biggest shareholders for protecting the country.
“We are the ones protecting Kenya, because we are at the border. We are the ones to be given shares in the country. Lakini huyu mzee anaanza kututenga, na tunasema Ruto two term bila wasiwasi,” he declared.
Guyo has said Ruto has opened up the Northern Region, that had been sideline by previous administrations, citing the recent construction of Isiolo- Mandera Road, as well as riad being constructed towards Chalbi Desert, that will open up tourism activities in Marsabit.
“All the roads that have been constructed are under Ruto, we have been sidelined since independence. The President has constructed roads in the County a 100KM through Chalbi Desert, 400KM from Turbi, and Isiolo-Mandera Road under construction. For that we must support him.
Guyo becomes the latest leader from Marsabit to express his support public despite his political party, months after former North Horr MP Chachu Ganya and Governor Mahmoud Ali expressed his support for Ruto’s second term.
Despite his ODM party not expressing their support for the president’s re-election, but support for Broad-Based government, his remarks contradicts the party’s stand that has been engaging in fights about their position in Kenya Kwanza administration.
Guyo further rallied Moyale residents to support President William Ruto, as he pleaded with residents to embrace peace in the region, to attract more development and solutions to long-term challenges including hunger, water shortage and poor infrastructure.
