Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, has fired his shot at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for taking advantage of the Mulembe Community.
Gachagua accounting to residents what he termed as the culture of Odinga to pocketing the regions votes and causing mayhem in the country, which propels him to bargaining with governments and taking all the benefits to his region and leaving the region under-developed.
“You have been misused for too long by Raila Odinga. Nyinyi mmetumiwa vibaya sana Huyu Raila, mnamsaidia mnapatia kura anatoa fujo anaingizwa kwa serikali anawacha nyinyi kwa mataa,” he remarked.
Similar sentiments were remarked by Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale, who said the region has for long been misused by Odinga, gaining nothing after entering into an agreement with governments. Khalwale advised the President Ruto not to rely on him to get him the votes from Mulembe Nation.
Speaking in Busia, Gachagua told the residents of the opportunities they were given, that has been snatched since Odinga joined the Kenya Kwanza government, under the broad based government, which saw former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba ousted from the Ministry of Sports to create space for his ‘experts’.
He cautioned the community against banking their votes against what he termed as political gains that he has since long enjoyed from the community in the past elections.
“Juzi aliingia kwa serikali, kulikuwa na mtoto wenu anaitwa Ababu Namwamba, akamfukuza. sasa nyinyi watu wa busia amekuja amefukuza Ababu mtafuata yeye. He has assured the president that Luhya votes are mine nitakuletea, itawezekana, let me tell you my cousins Raila Odinga has misused the Mulembe nation,” he said.
