Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has announced to Kenyans that he will be travelling out of the country to the Unites States on Wednesday July 9 evening.
He said that his planned trip to the United States is to talk to Kenyans in Diaspora and the international community about issues affecting the country, which he is not able to postpone, despite his will to be in the country to stand with Kenyans as government continues to oppress them.
“Tonight I will be traveling to the United States of America to talk to the Kenyans in Diaspora and the International Community about the State of the Nation, I would have wanted to stay in the country at this difficult time when our people are under siege. But I have engagements that I am not able to postpone,” Gachagua announced.
However, the former Deputy raised concerns that close allies of President William Ruto had contacted his people that they will arrest him at the airport. He boldly stated that he cannot be intimidated by the regime, and they have the liberty to go ahead with their plans to arrest him.
Gachagua added that he will not be shaken even if he is stopped from travelling, as he will gladly be in the country to continue calling on the government for accountability against their atrocities towards the people of Kenya.
“I have been threatened by people close to William Ruto , who called some of my people today, that they would want to stop me from leaving the country; I have no problem if you want to come and arrest me at the airport as you are threatening us, I have no problem you cannot sell fear to us even if you sell us fear we cannot buy. I will be out of the country unless I’m stopped from going. I’m still okay I Will be here this is my country,” he said.
The new king of opposition has bottled up his former boss, calling him out for failing to deliver on his promised agenda to the people, and further dismissed claims by President William Ruto that the One Term Movement want to overthrow him from government.
