Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga calls for a national dialogue ‘conclave’, to find solutions to issues affecting the nation, as his numerous calls for national dialogues that have not yielded any tangible results.
After failing to commemorate historic Saba Saba Day commemoration on Monday, Odinga stated that the country is currently grappling and massive disregard to human rights, through the conclave to bring reforms and civic engagement.
While addressing Kenyans in Seattle United States, Gachagua claimed that ODM leader sis an opportunist, always finding himself in governments through dialogue and distances when trouble brews touching the administration of the day, further stating that he has lost relevance in the political scenes of the country.
“Raila is totally irrelevant in the political discourse because every election cycle, he loses and finds his way into government. He wants to be in government but doesn’t want responsibility,” Gachagua remarked.
Earlier, his Deputy Cleophas Malala had also called out Odinga for not being interested in presidency, but wants to enjoy power without responsibility.
Gachagua said that currently as pressure continues to mount on the Kenya Kwanza administration, he has distanced himself, leaving President William Ruto to face the failures alone, He challenged Odinga to dissociate himself with Ruto, if he is a patriotic citizen.
“Right now, he finds things are too hot for Ruto; he tries to distance himself, but if he were a patriotic Kenyan and he meant well for our country, he would disengage from Kasongo, but he’s talking when his mouth is full,” he said.
Gachagua urged Kenyans to be strong for the remaining two years, further emphasizing that the only way to remove the president is through the ballot in 2027 General elections, as the country in its current state requires transformative leadership ad not proposed dialogue, as he termed the president as a pathological liar.
“Let us agree we have a problem and not try to fix it with half measures. I don’t think the Kenyan problem is talking to William Ruto. Even what you will agree will be a lie, so there’s nothing we can discuss with him because it cannot work,” he added.
